Dim the lights and give the kids flashlights or black lights flashlights (depending on what kind of glowing gifts you hide) to help them find the hidden treasures.

The things they find, they get to keep!

PRO PARTY TIP: Hand out these light-up Halloween baskets for kids to put their finds in and to take home as party favors!

Night Time Witchy Relay

  • Divide the kids into teams.
  • Set up two cauldrons or large bowls or Halloween buckets at a distance.
  • Place glow tubes like this in each cauldron.

Give each child a spoon (or tongs) and have them race walk to the cauldron, pick up an item with the spoon, and race back to their team to drop it in their team’s bowl or cauldron.

Then, hand off the spoon to the next teammate, who repeats the process.

The team that transfers all the items first wins.

Glow in the Dark Mummy Wrap Game

This is a fun take on the toilet paper mummy wrap game.

Provide each pair with a glow in the dark paper streamers like this.

One child will be the “mummy” and the other the “wrapper.”

Turn on blacklights like this, dim the overhead lights, and set a timer for 1 minute.

Let the kids wrap their partners in the dark to create mummies before the timer runs out.

Be sure to have extra paper, because kids always want to play this two or three times!

I love this Halloween game for group games or just a funny Halloween activity at home to do with kids after trick-or-treating!

Halloween Light-Up Limbo

Set up a light up limbo stick like this.

Play fun Halloween music and have the kids line up to take turns going under the limbo stick. Lower the stick after each round.

Halloween Shadow Puppets

Using a white sheet hung on the wall or side of the house or blank room wall, dim the lights and let kids experiment with making shadow puppets on the wall or surface using their hands and fingers for Halloween shadow play.

Have the other kids guess the Halloween shape.

PRO PARTY TIP: Grab fun flashlights like this to give to each child as a party favor to keep!

Creepy Halloween Feel Boxes

This old-school touch and feel gross out Halloween games is still popular! (We played this when I was a kid!)

Prepare a few bowls with different Halloween-themed items inside that are supposed to be gross body parts.

Place the bowls inside covered boxes with squares cut out. The holes should be big enough for hands but kids shouldn’t be able to see inside of them.

Turn off the lights and have the kids take turns putting their hands inside the boxes and feeling the mysterious contents without seeing them and try to guess what it is.

Or, label the boxes and watch their faces when they have to touch brains or eyeballs!

Ideas for the gross Halloween food game:

  • Peeled grapes for “eyeballs”
  • Cooked spaghetti with sauce for “guts”
  • Mushy head of cauliflower for “brains”
  • Sliced lunch meat for “skin”
  • Baby carrots for “fingers”
  • Roasted pumpkin seeds for “witch fingernails”
  • Candy corn for “zombie teeth”
  • Dried apricots for “zombie ears”
  • Cut up fruit leather for “scabs”
  • Cooked orzo for “maggots”
  • Jell-O for “witch snot”

Really, the gross food game items is only limited by your imagination. Go crazy with it because kids LOVE this game!
