No-Supplies Sleepover Ideas for Low Prep Party Planning
Planning a sleepover at the last minute can feel overwhelming, especially when you don’t have time to buy supplies or organize activities.
No worries, though!
The good news is that you don’t need anything fancy to create a fun pajama party that kids will talk about for months!
I’ve put together a list of low-prep activity ideas and basically no-prep party games for sleepovers for kids and teen activities.

No-Supplies Sleepover Ideas That Actually Work
Some of the best sleepover activities are simple, interactive, and require little-to-no setup.
(Plus, it saves this mama’s sanity with busy schedules, so BONUS.)
These ideas focus on creativity, laughter, and group fun, without needing any expensive materials or special supplies for party prep. That makes them perfect for last-minute party ideas!
Classic Sleepover Games (No Supplies Needed)
These timeless games are perfect for groups and require nothing but imagination.
Truth or Dare
A sleepover favorite that never gets old.
Keep it age-appropriate and fun by mixing silly dares with lighthearted questions.
Would You Rather
Take turns asking funny or tricky “would you rather” questions.
This game is great for getting everyone talking and laughing.
Two Truths and a Lie
Each person shares two true statements and one false one.
The group guesses which is the lie.
*My teen and her friends LOVE this game!
Classic Charades
Act out movies, animals, or everyday activities while others guess.
You can play in teams or as a whole group.
PRO PARTY TIP: If you have a little extra time for a low-prep party game, play the fish bowl game! All you need is paper, a bowl, and pens/pencils.
Silly and Fun Activities to Keep Kids Laughing
These ideas are perfect when energy is high and everyone wants to be active and creative.
Story-Building Game
Sit in a circle and build a story one sentence at a time.
The more random, the better.
PRO PARTY TIP: The Post-It Note Story Game is fun for tween games and teen activities using supplies you probably have at home.
Freeze Dance
One person claps or makes a beat while others dance.
When the sound stops, everyone must freeze.
Anyone who moves is out.
PRO PARTY TIP: If kids have playlists on their phone, they can use the music from those.
Late-Night Sleepover Ideas To Do When Kids Won’t Sleep
When the night stretches on, these quieter activities keep the fun going without getting too loud.
Ghost Stories
Turn off the lights and take turns telling spooky or silly stories.
If you have one already, use a flashlight or the flashlight on phones for extra effect.
Flashlight Games
Using the flashlights on their phones (or one you have at home), make shadow puppets.
Midnight Snack Challenge
Create fun snack combinations using whatever is already in the kitchen.
Have everyone rate the creations and then present them like they’re on a cooking show.
Everyone votes on different categories like best tasting, worst combination, funniest, etc.
Creative Ideas Using What You Already Have
These activities encourage creativity and work with everyday household items and supplies you already have at home.
Pillow Fort Contest
Use blankets, pillows, and furniture to build forts and tents to sleep under.
PRO PARTY TIP: I just put a bunch of blankets, sheets, and pillows in a pile and let the kids figure it out!
DIY Fashion Show
Put together outfits using clothes, accessories, or costumes from around the house and host a fashion show.
PRO PARTY TIP: Again, I just provide a laundry basket full of dress-up items from our closets and costumes stash for parties and Halloween.
Makeover Challenge
Give each group a space or an item to “transform” using items they find around the house.
Vote on who wins best makeover.
QUICK LAST-MINUTE TIPS CHEATSHEET: What to Do at a Sleepover With No Supplies
If you need quick ideas, here are my tried & tested simple go-to tips:
- Play TESTED group games like Truth or Dare or Two Truths and a Lie for the most fun.
- Build a pillow fort using blankets and cushions for a task that takes a while (and uses time and energy) and then gives them somewhere to sleep that night.
- If you have tweens, spooky stories and spooky games like these told in the dark by the phone flashlight are always a hit!
- Try fun snack combinations with what you already have (my kid and her friends had a ton of fun with this gross ice cream game).
- Use quiet games (like flashlight story games or flashlight puppet shows) as the night winds down to get kids in a calmer space and ready to sleep.
You don’t need a ton of supplies, or have to spend money on decorations, or make detailed plans to host a great sleepover.
Honestly, once the kids get past that awkward opening ice breaker time period, they’ll figure it out on their own.
REMEMBER: The best memories often come from simple moments, creativity, and shared laughter.
With the right mix of easy, no-prep activities, you can turn any last-minute sleepover into a fun and unforgettable experience.
I hope your kids have a ton of fun with these no-supplies sleepover ideas!
