A holiday craft party is fun Christmas party theme for kids, teen Christmas sleepover party, ladies night out theme (or girls’ night in winter theme), or creative family activities for Christmas Eve.
Here’s how to host the best holiday craft winter party that your guests love for the holiday season!

How To Host a Holiday Craft Party
*MOST IMPORTANT CRAFT PARTY TIP: Choose a Christmas Party Theme and Themed Craft Projects To Go With It
The biggest tip I can give you for hosting a craft-themed holiday party is to build the party around your craft themes.

Winter craft parties can have fun themes like Santa’s Workshop, Winter Wonderland, Vintage Christmas, etc., but the party won’t be as much fun without a theme.
PLUS, it can be overwhelming if you just put random craft supplies on a table and expect people to make whatever they want.
You’ll want to come up with 1-3 craft projects ahead of time, including making example finished craft(s) and then also provide
EASY CRAFT PARTY TIP: I also put like to put out simple craft packets like this, too. That way people who don’t want to do the more detailed crafts will have something to do. They are also great for crafts for parents to do with toddlers.
Craft Christmas Party Invitations
Choose a fun, festive title for the event that goes along with your craft Christmas party theme and then let your guests know about the theme on your invitations.
PRO PARTY TIP: Party invitations today don’t need to be expensive or elaborate. You can send simple digital invites or even handmade cards or handwritten cards.
Information to include on your Christmas craft party invitation:
- What it is (for example: “We’re having a Santa’s Workshop Craft Party!”)
- Time, date, and location of the party
- Craft types that you’re making
- Dress code
- A note that materials are provided -OR- anything guests should bring
- RSVP info like your email and phone number, including deadline date to reply & a prompt on how to RSVP (for example: “text RSVP by 12/10 to…”)
Tips for Crafts and Activities
- Choose 1–3 easy, seasonal winter craft projects
PRO PARTY TIP: The type and difficulty of the Christmas crafts will depend on the age of the party guests and size of the group. If you’re hosting a group of preschoolers, you might be better having 1-2 simple crafts. If you’re hosting a Christmas girls’ night in for adults, you might have more difficult crafts or even a bunch of different craft stations. Think about what works for the age levels and size of group.
- Prepare examples to show the finished project
- Offer different skill levels or a variety of age-appropriate options if you have a family party with different ages
- Provide drying and display space for finished crafts
