Mardi Gras Selfie Scavenger Hunt

This is fun if you have adults meeting up for a Mardi Gras event, having a work Mardi Gras party, or a teen Mardi Gras party!

Give party guests a list of selfie challenges like:

  • Take a selfie with someone eating King Cake.
  • Take a selfie with a feather boa in a Mardi Gras color.
  • Take a selfie wearing a Mardi Gras mask.
  • Take a selfie drinking a fun Mardi Gras drink.
  • (etc)

Post the images to social media and the photos with the most likes win prizes. (Or, have guests vote on the images at the end of the night).

Mardi Gras Beads Toss Game

Set up different buckets and bowls. Party guests toss beads into different buckets for prize points.

Person with the most points wins a prize.

This is one of those simple, budget-friendly, and fun Mardi Gras party ideas that’s good for a party with different ages.

PARTY TIP: You can also have a prize ticket table where if they get 0-5 points they get to pick from an area of smaller gifts (like pieces of candy), 5-10 points gets you a choice from another area, etc.

Mardi Gras Party Game Doubloon Dash With Mardi Gras Coins - text over Mardi Gras coins for Mardi gras activities

Doubloon Dash (Funny Mardi Gras Coin Game)

Place a bowl of Mardi Gras doubloons like this (Mardi Gras coins) for each person/team at one end of the room and an empty bowl at the other.

Guests must use a spoon to scoop up as many coins as they can and race to drop them into the bowl at the other end of the room.

If any coins drop to the floor, the person must return the dropped ones to the starting bowl and keep going.

First person to transfer all their coins to the bowl at the other end wins a prize.

If you have a large group, divide them into teams who have to take turns.

This is a fun Mardi Gras activity for the whole family!

BUDGET PRO PARTY TIP: You can also re-use the colored and gold coins for a treasure hunt game.

Bourbon Street Balloon Pop Mardi Gras Minute To Win It

Write different funny minute to win it challenges on pieces of paper. Insert them into balloons in Mardi Gras colors (green, purple, gold, yellow).

Party guest select a balloon, pop it, and perform the challenge inside.

King Cake Decorating Contest

Provide plain king cakes (you don’t need a king cake recipe, you can even use plain cupcakes) and various toppings in a Mardi Gras Theme and Mardi Gras traditional colors with icing, sprinkles, cake toppers, Mardi Gras decorations, etc.

Don’t forget to add a Mardi Gras King Cake baby decorations for the fun Mardi Gras tradition!

Party guests can decorate their own king cakes, and the best-decorated cake wins a prize, voted on by judges or other guests.

Mardi Gras Glow Beads Scavenger Hunt

Hide glow in the dark Mardi Gras beads like these in different locations.

Give each team a small flashlight and clues to different bead locations. First team to collect all the glowing beads wins a prize.

Mardi Gras Trivia

Use Mardi Gras fun facts and Mardi Gras history to prepare Mardi Gras-themed trivia questions before the party. Divide guests into Mardi Gras teams named after popular Krewes (like Krewe of Bacchus, Krewe of Endymio, Krewe of Rex, Krewe of Zulu, Krewe of Orpheus, Krewe of Proteus, Krewe of Muses, Krewe of Nyx, etc.).

Award prizes to team with the most correct answers at end of the game.

Mardi Gras Musical Chairs

Start with as many folding chairs as guests. Place them in a circle and have each guest sit on a chair.

Play Mardi Gras music (get a Mardi Gras playlist here) and have guests walk around the circle of chairs to the music.

When the music stops, they must find a chair and the person standing without a chair is out.

Remove one chair each time and repeat the process (after the first round, there should always be one less chair than number of people playing).

Last person who has a chair wins a prize.

PARTY TIP: What makes playing Musical Mardi Gras Chairs better than playing this at other games is that Mardi Gras music is so much fun, so adults and kids really get into this game!

Mardi Gras Scavenger Hunt

Organize a scavenger hunt with Mardi Gras-themed clues leading participants to Mardi Gras hidden treasures and Mardi Gras treats.

PRO PARTY TIP: This is a fun game if you have a Mardi Gras party with kids and adults. Divide theme into teams and compete against each other for prizes.

Hilarious Mardi Gras Bead Relay Race

This is my favorite Mardi Gras game that really gets guests of all ages laughing and participating. (It’s great for an ice breaker game because everyone is forced to work together!)

Also, I love that you can play this DIY game with some strings of beads and then stuff you already have at home (making this one of those super easy Mardi Gras activities!).

Goal of the game: Each team must transfer their bowl of beads to the bowl on the other end of the line first to win. TRICK: Each person on the team has a different kitchen utensil (like chopstick, spoon, plastic cups, coffee mug, bowl, metal straw, etc.).

Divide the party guests into teams. Have each team stand in a line. Give each player a different kitchen tool, like spoons, tongs, cups, chopsticks, forks, etc.

Give a bowl of Mardi Gras beads (same number in each team’s bowl, like 10 or 20) to the first person on each team. The first person must use their kitchen utensil (say a cup) to scoop up as many beads as possible and pass them to the next person, who has to use their kitchen utensil (say, chopsticks) to grab the beads and pass them to the next person in line.

If at any time someone drops beads, those beads go back into the beginning bowl.

First team to get all their beads to the bowl on the other end of their line wins the game.

Pin the Mask on the Jester

Print a picture of a Mardi Gras jester.

Blindfolded participants try to pin a cardboard mask (or a jester’s hat) onto the jester in the correct place on the jester’s eyes or the jesters hat on top of the head.

BONUS PARTY GAME IDEAS: Grab this Mardi Gras bingo to give away fun prizes or host a Mardi Gras murder mystery party using this. Great to add to your easy Mardi Gras games list!
